Lil’Miss Zip Connects…

Well, its official… denim is the new black!  Denim has always been an all American favorite, but has now become the most universal language in any fashionista’s arsenal.  From the office to date night to a day with the girls or just running errands, denim is the new fashion accessory to never leave home without.  Gone are the days of only wearing denim on “casual” Friday, as the denim of today can be paired with a smart blazer for workweek cool, a cotton button down denim shirt looks crisp with a long maxi or an oldie but goodie denim jacket works well over a sateen top and flat front chinos or dress pants for a daytime meeting.

Skinny or wide-leg, the denim component is now not only socially acceptable for 9-5 but is also a comfortable way to run from day to night in the blink of an eye.  As the cool weather settles, it is also a fun and versatile way to stay on trend while keeping temps comfortable.

Colored denim is another fresh way to update your look with skinnies and chords in every color of the rainbow available – from pale to muted and pastel to opaque.  What better way to brighten your day than to pull on your fave violet pair with a coral sweater topped off with a fuchsia heels or suede ankle boot?! Including a statement necklace, animal print thin belt and wrapping a scarf to complete the look is the cherry on top.

Cuffing is also a great way to make old denim look new… whether rolling up your denim sleeves to show off a charming timepiece or layered over a lightweight tee, this will update your attire in seconds.  The hem cuff is also a great way to get more life out of your favorites by folding them thin, thick short or long.  Boyfriend jeans and skinnies work best with a fun heel or wedge.
